From March – August 2015, Giving Tree Associates led the Justin Wynn Fund board and staff through a strategic planning process to plan for the next five years of the organization’s growth. In addition, Giving Tree assisted the organization with the revision of its by-laws, updating of its mission statement and creation of a vision statement. Founded in 1987, the Justin Wynn Fund was created to memorialize Evanston resident Justin Wynn, who died tragically at the age of nine years old. Its mission is to celebrate and nurture youth leaders by helping them develop a deep sense of self and responsibility for improving their communities. The organization’s new five-year strategic plan provides detailed goals, objectives and strategies to guide its growth in the areas of programming, board development, public relations and fundraising.
