Giving Tree Associates facilitated a half day board retreat for Hillel Torah North Suburban Day School in late 2012. The board spent the evening in workshops that focused on goal setting, major gift development, leadership development, communications strategies and board role definition. In early 2013 the board brought GTA back to the school to facilitate a 3-hour solicitation training that covered the role of the board in fundraising, hesitations around asking, motivations for giving, appointment setting, asking for the gift and common objections. Hillel’s Torah’s board of directors is now actively engaged in major gift fundraising.
